FAQ’S

I announce booking dates via my Instagram and this website. During booking times (typically open and available for booking submissions for 24-48 hours depending on volume), there will be a link on the front page directing you to an email format that will send me everything you’ll need to fill out. I spend a few days up to a week reading each email and picking the pieces I feel I’d like to do best for the season. I will email back and coordinate times, and take a deposit to confirm.

It’s a little tricky because sometimes Maps doesn’t point us in the right direction. But we are located in the back part of the Ford Building! You will NOT enter the double doors off of 11th or off of Division, but you would walk past Shoofly, past Duchess Clothier and around to the back part of the building into the parking lot (where you may also park) where you’ll see our door! It’s the last one closest to the street.
So in short, to the right off of 11th Ave, right before the train tracks, in the parking lot.

My hourly rate is $200/hour with a minimum of $140. I do take a $100-$300 deposit/booking fee depending on the what the custom project entails. Small/Medium custom work are subject to a $100-200 deposit that will go towards your tattoo session. However, sleeves and larger projects could expect a drawing fee (to pay for my hours/time spent drawing; will not go towards your session) and maybe a small deposit (that will go towards your session). In conclusion, it just all depends, but I will be transparent BEFORE we even start tattooing about overall pricing and am happy to negotiate.
Deposits and fees are non-refundable and non-transferable to other artists at New Rose Tattoo. Your deposit is subject to forfeiture if you do not show up for your appointment or do not let me know within 48 hours before your appointment if you cannot attend!
I will be asking for you deposit via email while I’m coordinating times with you during booking, with a link to my Venmo or Square accounts, whichever you choose!
NOTE; There are times I don’t ask for one, and thats ok! Your appointment is still on the calendar and I didn’t forget you!I applied, but haven’t heard anything back. text goes here

I’m so sorry! Please understand that there are always so many great ideas, but I can only accept so many people for a certain amount of time. If you haven’t heard back, kindly assume that I cannot accept your tattoo request for this cycle, but perhaps next time!
-
I do! I have a binder at the shop I tend to show clients I've been working with and post available designs on Instagram from time to time.
-
Sometimes! But I do not guarantee that I will. However, I do always give myself enough time for any reasonable changes prior to your session! I also tend to most likely make several options for you to choose from. However I do understand that these forever pieces can make some nervous and anxious, and I can absolutely work with you if you feel unsure about anything! I don’t require any extra costs for changes.
I humbly ask that you do NOT send me emails, texts, and phone calls to ask where your design is, please. Trust me :) If it’s a larger and more intricate design I probably WILL message you to seek your approval a day or two before. There will be enough time for changes if need be, no problem.
I do find it slightly intimidating to ask a month or so ahead of time about your design. Truthfully, I tend to start designing custom pieces during the week of your appointment. This is because I work with 1-3 clients daily who I must also prepare for. If you’re uncomfortable waiting to see your design up to the day of perhaps, I’m more than understanding about any hesitation; but I unfortunately do not have the capacity to change this process too much.
I would like for sleeves to have a draw-check day to ensure it looks as you imagine and fits correctly.

I do prefer cash! I accept card deposits via my Square or Venmo accounts. The remaining balance due the day of your tattoo session can be paid with a swiped card (with 3.5% tax) or Venmo, but cash is always preferred!
-
Totally fine! Please send me an email or text, I’m super lenient on rescheduling as I understand life DOES happen. Ideally, give me at least a 48 hour notice; Your deposit will transfer with you, but a no-show with no notice will not be rescheduled. Or you can DM me!
-
ABSOLUTELY. I do not mind talking money with you and you have the right to ask without judgement! I will always stick within your specified budget you wrote in the email.
-
Yes. I will not tattoo subject matter that is satanic, racist, homophobic, fascist, hateful, etc; because I have the right to not do so. My tattooing process is not just a reflection of you, but of me. As I understand allot of people do align with pagan/satanic practice, my refusal of satanic work of course does not suggest that I won’t still want to happily work with you again on other pieces! You’re probably still a cool person and are worthy of friendship and acceptance like everyone else, but I have a healthy fear of summoning demonic energy in my life if I’d tattooed it. :)
I will not tattoo inner lips, or genitalia otherwise.
-
Please bring a photo ID! If you do not have one, I cannot tattoo you unfortunately. Feel free to bring headphones, a book, iPad, phone, sweater, water bottle, anything reasonable to make you comfortable. I’m friendly and we can chat too!
I highly encourage you to wear dark colors! I can’t always promise I might not accidentally sling a drop of black ink on your new Nikes.
-
Absolutely, but preferably only one person please! Your guest can totally hang out with us and feel welcome in the space. Please no children or pets!
-
Absolutely, you are entitled to one if needed! Touchups of my own work are always free of charge but your tattoo must be healed. Usually it takes about 2-3 weeks to heal your tattoo enough for me work on it again. It never hurts to shoot a text or email to ask about this!
I don’t touch up other artist’s work; BUT there are exceptions. You are never forced to go back to a person who might have abused their position at a time when you were most vulnerable, just as an example. In this case, I would be open to possibly helping you with that piece for finishing or touching up.
-
Absolutely!

Maintaining a healthy work-life balance is very difficult and I’m still trying to find that balance.
